Gaara’s second day on the job, and already he had made his boss angry. The ominous black goo oozing from the file room had technically not been the new intern’s fault, however, as he’d been feeding the cat at the time it began eating away at the door frame, but still he felt pressed to give some sort of suggestion. First impressions mattered most, after all.

— “Do you want me to duct tape the crack between the door and the carpet?”

Upon hearing the inquiry he tilted his head upwards to meet the eyes of the newest intern at the station. Cecil didn’t know much about him aside from the fact that he was a quiet lad. Not that there was anything wrong with that, after all so far the young man had been doing a good job.

“If you could. I sent intern Brad to go get some cleaning supplies, he should be back shortly.” Or so he hoped, interns seemed to drop like flies, and while not particularly unusual it could be a hassle. Pushing himself up from his seat at the booth, he stared at the growing pool of black and seemingly boiling ooze. This would take ages to clean up, assuming it wouldn’t dissolve right through the floor.
